The Semper Reformanda Conference!

I am so glad that we were able to go to the Semper Reformanda Conference down near Houston, Texas. What a Christ-exalting conference! We were challenged and encouraged by Paul Washer's preaching and also the many other speakers there including Voddie Baucham. There were keynotes and then breakout sessions. It was hard to pick which breakout sessions to go to! (Grace Family Baptist Church (where Mr. Baucham is one of the elders) puts on this conference every year.)

The main thing that stood out to me is that I need to pray more. Prayer is SO important, yet sadly it is easy not to do enough of it. Prayer is powerful! That is why Satan does all he can to try to get us distracted from praying. We need to fight against that and be strong in the Lord!

Paul Washer is a man of prayer and is close to Christ. You can tell by his life.

I thought I would share with you a few quotes from the keynotes and also the breakout sessions I went to:

"We were made to be fighting. Men were not made to be comfortable and safe." ~Paul Washer

"Our sword is not made of steel, but a Book and you need to read it." ~Paul Washer

"It is in difficulties and weakness that we become strong."~Paul Washer

"Do not lower the commands of Christ to make the Church attractive." ~Paul Washer

"If people are wrong about Christ they are wrong about everything."~Voddie Baucham

"Does your church lift Christ high?" ~ Voddie Baucham

"Unify around truth." ~Voddie Baucham
"If you can pray you can evangelize." ~Gabriel Oseguera (from a breakout session on Practical Evangelism)
"We have become so busy that our minds are not renewed." ~Paul Washer
"Be mighty in prayer."~Paul Washer

Powerful preaching, eternal friendships, and rich fellowship!

My sister Alyssa posted about this conference as well, so you can go over to her blog HERE to learn more about our time down there. :)
