Treasuring Christ

"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith," ~ Hebrews 12:1-2a

How easily we can hold tight to the things in this life that are so temporary and fleeting in the scheme of eternity.  And when we do that they can hinder us from living fully for the Lord.

We need to treasure Christ above all else. And He is so faithful at helping us loosen our grip on the things of this life and turn our gaze more fully on Him and His purposes for us. He is all we really need.

"If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God." ~ Colossians 3:1-3

I often think about how the flowers and the tree branches reach *up* as if to raise hands to their Creator!

"When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:

“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!”[b]
“Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”

“I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”" From Luke chapter 19

Praise God!
Thank you, Amy!
