This week I am sewing together a quilt top that I have been wanting to sew for a while.
It is a simple pattern and a lot of fun to put together!
Figure out what size squares you want to use. You can use any size you would like. I am using 8 1/2" squares for this quilt. Once you have the squares cut out you can then begin sewing them into nine-patch blocks.
Then using a ruler and rotary cutter, cut the completed nine patch into
quarters as shown in the picture above.
So you just keep sewing nine patches and cutting until you have enough for the size quilt you want to make! You can arrange them however you would like. The picture above shows how I am going to do this quilt.
I have bought different autumn prints over the years and I am glad to finally be using them. :)

Oh, beautiful! I've seen these kinds of quilts and always loved taht neat trick! Soo easy and people think you went to a lot more work than just sewing a few bigger blocks together. ;) HeHe! Love all the fun prints you chose too! :D
Great job on the directional block placement...I probably would have sewn mine together then realized later on (and had mine come out all upside down!). :P Good thing you knew how to do it the right way! :D Can't wait to see it all completed! Hmm, maybe I'll copy you and do my quilt this way. :) HeHe! I'll have to see! ;)
Blessings and Hugs!

Rachel,
Thanks for your comment! :)
Yes, I am glad I realized that I needed to make sure of the direction I place the blocks! I don't particularly like ripping out seams.
I will post a picture of the quilt top once I have it all sewn together. :)
Blessings!

Dear Amy,
First, I want to wish you the Best of Birthdays today!! Happy Birthday!! This is the 3rd place I have wished you a Happy Birthday today (your job is to find the other two:) It wasn't meant to be a challenge originally or on purpose:) I love the colors in your quilt--very warm. On this exceptionally cold day in Minnesota, making a quilt seems to be the perfect thing to be doing! I hope you have a wonderful day, and I wish I could be up there with you celebrating. (P.S. Is Ana with the L. family now?)
Lots of Love,
Mrs. Gunn
Thank you for your comments and birthday notes, Mrs. Gunn! I have found two of your notes and I have an idea where the other one is. :) What fun!
I have enjoyed working on the quilt.:)
Ana will be with the L. family starting the first week in Feb. for a few days each week. :)
Blessings!

I received my beautiful Etsy purchases today!! Yay! I love them all!! The scarf is the perfect purple, and ya know what? (This might sound a little weird, but...) When I hold it up to my face, and close my eyes, it smells like being at your house! I can imagine I'm with you! How fun!
I absolutely love the notecards, Amy! They are so beautiful. I will so enjoy using them.
Thanks for the lovely work,
Mrs. Gunn
