God gave me an unexpected treat yesterday! I was on my way in from walking the dogs and spotted this hummingbird sitting in the grass! It was hard to believe it was just sitting there! Normally they are always flying around so fast! So I rushed in and got the camera! I started taking pictures from a few feet away.....
.......but then I gradually got closer until I had the camera lens about an inch away from it! I love to use the super-macro mode on the camera. :)
Look at those beautiful feathers and check out that beak! :)
Later on when I went out there it was still sitting in the grass, though in a little different spot. Mom gently picked it up with her gloved hands and we put it near the house in an open container. After a little while I went out to check on it and it was gone! I was so glad it was able to fly away! :)
God's creation is truly amazing and I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to see and photograph this amazing bird up close!
